Just a 3-hour flight from the UAE, Armenia's capital Yerevan is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, dating back to the 8th century, and combines historic churches and ancient monasteries with tree-filled boulevards, European-style outdoor cafes, art galleries, temples and museums. Views of snow-capped dormant volcano, Mount Ararat, are visible from all parts of the city on a clear day.

Similar in its offerings of new and old, Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest city, with an eclectic collection of architecture and a vibrant arts scene. Set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, the one-time leafy capital also provides a gateway to Kazakhstan's many outdoor adventures and ski resorts.

Air Arabia saw profits soar 34% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, with passenger numbers rising 11% to 4.9 million. This follows a record year for the UAE-based airline in 2024 as the airline added 31 new routes to its network.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi also flies to Yerevan and Almaty, and reported record 20% growth in passengers carried in 2024, reaching 3.5 million.
