Passengers can skip the carousel and have baggage sent direct to their home or hotel from AED249

Dubai International airport (DXB) has launched a new premium luggage delivery service, meaning passengers arriving into Dubai can skip the baggage carousel and have their bags delivered direct to their home or hotel within hours of landing. The service costs from AED249.

Designed to streamline the travel experience, the new service is part of an expanded partnership between Marhaba, a division of Dnata, and DUBZ, a baggage logistics company, and extends Mahaba's existing DXB services, which include meet-and-greet assistance and lounge facilities.

As part of this collaboration, Mahaba is also offering a new service for departing passengers that includes remote check-in and luggage pickup from homes or hotels, with prices starting from AED279.

Passengers can store their bags at the airport for as long as needed on the day of delivery, making this an ideal service for guests who have late departure flights after hotel checkouts.

Aimed at “removing friction and giving people back time and peace of mind”, demand for such airport experiences is at an all-time high according to Jaffar Dawood, Divisional Senior Vice President for UAE Airport Operations.

This is backed by IATA’s most recent Global Passenger Survey, with 70% of respondents saying they would prefer checking in their luggage in advance to avoid long queues.

A number of airports worldwide offer similar services, including regional airports Bahrain International and Hamad International in Doha, and Lufthansa, which recently launched its premium service allowing passengers departing from Frankfurt Airport to have their luggage collected from their hotels and securely transported to the airport for check-in.
